In an op-ed, Palmer wrote that it “normalizes and makes palatable the most antiunion party and president I’ve seen in my lifetime. … It is unconscionable for any labor leader to lend an air of legitimacy to a candidate and a political party, neither of which can be said to have done or can be expected to do, anything to improve the lives of the workers we are pledged to represent.”

The union accused the company of engaging in a “relentless antiunion campaign marked with unlawful discipline, unlawful captive audience meetings, and a general goal of coercing and intimidating employees.”

That report, a third-party assessment of the company’s labor practices that shareholders requested in March against the company’s recommendation, found no evidence of an “antiunion playbook” suggesting “surreptitious means of interfering with employees’ freedom to choose.”

The company has said repeatedly that all claims against it of antiunion activity are “categorically false.”

They’re the antithesis of the principles supposedly honored by “right to work” antiunion laws so beloved by employers and conservative politicians.
