Wider protests in the northern city of Ardebil erupted following reports a teenager, Asra Panahi, died after police confronted protesting girls at a high school.

He had already watched as 130 other convicts in his prison, in the city of Ardebil, were sent to their deaths over the previous six and a half years.

Mr. Kzempour Ardebil also slammed Mr. Trump for withdrawing from the 2015 nuclear accord, negotiated by the Obama administration to curb Iran’s nuclear programs in exchange for a lifting of strong international economic sanctions.

“You impose sanctions on major producers, founders of OPEC, and yet you are asking them to reduce the prices?! Since when did you start ordering OPEC! Your tweets have driven the prices up by at least $10/b,” Mr. Kzempour Ardebil said, adding “Pls stop it, otherwise it will go even higher!”

“You say you want to negotiate with the world, but you don’t know how to speak the global language. You don’t even know how to speak the language of your own people,” Rouhani said at a rally in the northern town of Ardebil.
