ABC has cast its first black lead to front “The Bachelorette.”

The Guardian was more conservative: "Annie remake: casting of black lead provokes negative Twitter posts" it peeped.

At the forefront of that initiative was Lindsay, who at the time was the only black lead to have ever served on The Bachelorette.

This current season is the first to feature a black lead.

Even The Bachelor has named its first black lead.
