The announcement comes as Dartmouth is marking the 50th anniversary of coeducation on its New Hampshire campus.

Two weeks ago, the new minister of higher education stated flatly, “We will not allow coeducation.”

The Taliban last week declared that women would be permitted to study in universities but no longer in the same classrooms as males because "coeducation is in opposition to sharia law."

The women marched outside, some of them holding signs including banners reading in English: “We are satisfied with attitude and behavior of Mujahideens” and “We don’t want coeducation.”

Some 750 women from nearby colleges descended on Yale, lived “in dorm rooms vacated by obliging Yale students,” attended classes, and participated in forums and panels on coeducation.
