Yet in this election campaign, Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and Opposition leader Peter Dutton have had little to say on First Nations issues.
The comments represent one of the only times on the campaign trail that Dutton has publicly addressed issues specifically relating to First Nations people 鈥 and not to discuss disadvantage, but within the context of a culture war.
