“That men who have retreated for ten days, sleeping on the ground and half-dead with fatigue, should be able to take up their rifles and attack when the bugle sounds, is a thing upon which we never counted,” said German general Alexander von Kluck.

“It was a monumental undertaking,” said Roger Kluck, the director of Projects for a Civil Society, the local chapter of AVP.

“All of us are mad at Mrs. Kluck for being so gross to Mrs. Hameed. So I came up with a great idea.”

But without Mrs. Kluck’s ice cream machine, that’s never going to happen.
