Laten Arnold Jenkins Jr., who could often be seen walking outside the Nordstrom downtown with a blanket wrapped like a cloak around his tall frame, was found dead in that blanket the day after Thanksgiving last year, according to his brother, Lawrence.

Lawrence wrote in the South Seattle Emerald that Laten — who had schizophrenia — was loved and missed by many more than the “many hundreds” of people who passed by his body at a downtown bus stop the day he died.

It helped him to gather the audience for a talk he presented on 21 May as part of the LATeN seminar, organized by a group of Latin American number theorists.
