In August, Chile’s Supreme Court sentenced six former soldiers to 15 years and a day in prison for killing Jara and lawyer �����ٳٰ�é Abraham Quiroga Carvajal, former general director of prisons under Allende.

The case also involved Allende’s prisons chief �����ٳٰ�é Quiroga. who also was tortured and killed at the stadium, apparently because of alleged mistreatment of an officer who had earlier attempted a coup.

Allende’s prisons chief Littre Quiroga also was killed.

Miguel Vázquez sentenced the eight men to 15 years and one day in prison for the murder of Jara and that of former prisons director Littre Quiroga Carvajal.
