Reseda, rē-sē′da, n. a genus of polypetalous plants, the mignonette family.

Drosera�ce�, a nat. ord. of polypetalous Dicotyledons, consisting of insectivorous marsh herbs, whose leaves are usually covered with glands or glandular hairs.

In some polypetalous corollas, as that of the vine, the petals are separate at the base and adhere by the apices.

Irregular Flowers may be polypetalous, or nearly so, as in the papilionaceous corolla; but most of them are irregular through coalescence, which often much disguises the numerical symmetry also.

It is more common among polysepalous and polypetalous plants than in those in which the sepals or petals are united together.
