Shaun Kenney, RPV’s former executive director who is supporting Youngkin, said the party’s mailers were particularly egregious in a “post-Charlottesville world,” a reference to the 2017 march by white supremacists.

Among the candidates who have received funds from the PAC are three Republicans — Harold Pyon, Tara Durant and Karen Greenhalgh — whose Democratic opponents were targeted by the recent RPV mailings.

“No amount of political favors and back-slapping can refute the fact that McAuliffe is a fraudulent candidate and cannot be Virginia’s next governor,” RPV Chairman Rich Anderson said in a news release announcing the suit.

“They were there tonight because RPV failed to provide a security guard last night and 3 doors had their seals broken,” the Youngkin spokesman said in a written statement Sunday night.

Like the irritated neighbors of the Hollywood sign, RPV’s prosperous insomniacs grumbled about the pulsing nightlong twirl of light, and so the inland side of the lamp was painted opaque white, and the foghorn was silenced early in this century.
