“Skagit,” an experimental horror film written and directed by Seattle filmmaker Nick Thompson, was just released online on Amazon, Google, Apple TV and YouTube.

The most fearsome moisture is likely to fall in the Cascade mountains and their foothills in Snohomish and possibly Skagit counties.

The Old Sauk River Trail doesn’t demand much in the way of elevation, and provides hikers with a nice and easy out-and-back stretch along the federally preserved Skagit Wild and Scenic River System.

That work will continue in the days and weeks ahead, with aerial spraying in the Olympia region and around Concrete in Skagit County.

“Upper Skagit believes that we have a historical, moral obligation to restore where we can before it’s too late,” said Scott Schuyler, policy representative for the Upper Skagit Tribe.
