The horned skull of a Naga tribesman was among thousands of items that European colonial administrators had collected from the state.

Police say that on Sunday alone, more than 300 shots were fired by tribesmen, after peace talks between the clans had failed.

The tribesmen have exaggerated features like broad noses and large feathered headdresses.

“These tribesmen have been killed all over the countryside, all over the bush,” Mr. Kakas told the broadcaster.
