Matt Pinfield, a radio host and former MTV VJ, is unable to care for himself after recently suffering a ‘massive stroke,’ his daughter says in legal documents.

The former VJ told the Hollywood Reporter that he “intends to come back swinging” after two months in a coma.

Later in the year, on 15 August, a service led by the Royal British Legion will be held at the National Memorial Arboretum, Staffs, to commemorate VJ Day, or Victory in Japan Day, and the end of the war.

They added that last month's Budget confirmed £10m in funding for events to mark VE and VJ Day next year.

The surrender of Imperial Japan on VJ Day, which brought the war to an end a few months later, is commemorated on 15 August.
